MM-610 8TH Air Force POW Purple Heart/ Air Medal
Grouping for a Radioman who was shot down over Germany and
held in a POW Camp. He developed meningitis and was refused
treatment and died. The Physician who treated him wrote a
letter which is present documenting the series of events.
His shipmates fabricated a cross for him and photographed it
and sent it with a letter of explanation. There are
telegrams, clippings, full deceased personal file and lots
of information. Great historic grouping showing the cruelty
